Student Support / 学习 Center

We are deeply committed to supporting students N – 8 和 offer additional academic support in our 学习 Centers. The focus of this work includes skill development, strategy usage, 和 self advocacy skills.

Social Emotional 学习

Two psychologists 和 a 健康 Educator/Guidance Counselor work closely with teachers, advisors 和 Division Heads to ensure that we are being proactive 和 responsive to students’ social emotional needs.

健康 & 健康

Students engage in 健康与福利 classes in the 4th through 8th Grade. The content of these classes varies depending on the age of the students but, 整体, includes social-emotional self-care 和 decision-making, physical self-care (sleeping, eating 和 personal hygiene), reproductive anatomy 和 pregnancy, gender identity 和 sexual orientation, mental health challenges, 和 issues related to substance 和 alcohol use.

中学 Advisory

The Advisory Program is the centerpiece of the 中学 experience at Rodeph Sholom School. Each student is paired with one advisor in 5th Grade to help them transition into the 中学 和 then each student is paired with a new advisor in 6th Grade, who serves as their advisor for the final three years of their Rodeph Sholom School experience. Advisors serve as chief advocates for their students throughout their time in 中学, constantly consulting with other teachers, 父母, 和 any other people that can help a child grow academically, 社会, 和情感上. Because every 中学 teacher serves as an advisor, the 中学 is filled with high quality educators who are not only experts in their subject matter, but also experts in helping middle school students navigate the trials 和 tribulations of adolescence.
